Create a personal take-home flag featuring the footprints of local indigenous creatures. Hand made printing blocks and simple printing techniques will be utilised to create each flag. Learn about the footprints of our waterways from Kari. Learn about local species and the impact of footprints on stream banks. Learn which ones are green!
Each participant will have the opportunity to leave their very own 'ecofeet' print.
No experience necessary, just hands and feet willing to get creatively messy.

CUBAN CONGO CARNIVAL RHYTHM Come along and make a conga rhythm band, be part of the street parade! This workshop offers creative opportunities to be part of an exciting community project.
Upbeat Rhythms shares the vibrant 'Conga' rhythm, famous to the Carnival celebrations of 'Santiago de Cuba'. This fun and interactive group workshop on Thursday is open to all ages and invites participants to learn some authentic rhythmic parts used in Cuban drumming, tools for playing in an ensemble and putting together this exciting music in the making of a Conga band that will be part of the Yandina street parade on Sunday morning.

So if you have ever wanted to be part of a conga line band and get into the spirit of carnival, come along and join in the fun. Participants need to bring instruments that they can carry, hand drums, bass drums, snares, bells and shakers.

Circus Yoga Explores counter-balancing, flying and basing roles in balances as pairs. Handstands, tumbling and formation of balances to produce connecting flowing moves for a short acro-balance routine. Acrobatic balance infused with yoga and creative movement for individual expression and learning own body limitations and trust of each other as pairs or team members. Wheelchair safe access and disability conveniences.
Hoop & Twirling techniques blended with dance moves, on and off body, plus isolation hooping. Encouraging skilled Plate balancing with a playful attitude. Poi/staff and flag twirling as a technique for practicing. Juggling and harmonic whirl play to flavour strengths and artisitic expression. Awakening of the senses which are here in the circus playground.
Wear comfortable clothes. Bring Water Bottle and Yoga mats (or towel).

FLUTTERBY BUTTERFLY! Make your own Bamboo & Tissue Paper butterfly. Attach it to a piece of bamboo & fly butterfly, flyeee. All materials supplied. Participants will shape & cover their creations, & then paint & decorate them. On Sunday you will float along under your flying creations & be a part of the parade.

Delve into fun techniques for interviews with 'clients' to hone in on their hobbies and aspirations to embelish your drawing of them. Junkology Recycled Instruments.
Learn the basics of percussion for beginners and build confidence making music with a group. Rhythm, timing, stops and starts on examples from the Junkologists store of instruments in preparation for the parade. Easy-to-play and make instruments give inspiration and uplifts many toward creative endeavours of their own. Share the "singing swords" - a musical instrument inspired by Glenn's interest in medieval sword making. Experience the sound of the African Imbira, the Native American Flute and the guitar and didgeridoo.

Green Finger Fun. Learn about the maintenance of a worm farm for basic gardening skills. Learn the basics of potting up with plant seedlings and labels. Look at the examples of various of stages of the growth process that already exist in the Blue House community gardens for encouragement. Take home a 'How to Booklet' included with instruction to build a compost heap that works. Discover tips from our forefathers 150 years ago.

WALL MURAL- "Reflect on our past and imagine our future ... greeeen"- then get out your paints & put it on the wall! Participants will discuss & submit ideas that will form the design, & then go wild & create an amazing bright group artwork. This is a community wall & as such this project will consider all ideas. Design topics may include sport, music, recreation activities, hobbies etc... your call.

LEARN BASIC WEAVING TECHNIQUES. A variety of weaving matter is supplied, but if you have something you'd love to incorporate into your item, bring it along. (eg. beads, ribbon, long grasses etc.) You will be able to make baskets/pots, wall hangings, masks etc. You choose.
